Private Pay? Direct Pay? Cashed Based?

Essentially these three phrases mean the same thing- our company does not bill our services through insurance. * We get asked “Why don’t you take Medicare?” a lot! This is becoming more common in the therapy, and overall healthcare, industry.

Here are the benefits to providing private pay physical and occupational therapy:

  • This allows us to work with clients as long as they would like.
  • We don’t have to discharge due to “plateau in progress”.
  • No Medicare documentation hoops to jump through which allows us to spend our whole treatment time actually providing treatment.
  • We can work on what is truly important to each individual client even if it’s not considered “billable” under insurance.
  • Our model sets our clients up for long-term success. Instead of seeing them for the approved “6 visits” we can take the time to really dig into what is going on and stick with them to solve the issue and address new issues as they pop up.
  • Following a maintenance model of therapy, we can prevent falls and hospitalizations from ever happening.
  • We can take a proactive approach instead of the traditional retroactive approach.
  • Working with our clients to stay fit and healthy as they age allows for aging in place and avoids hefty, assisted living/long term care costs.

*In some circumstances there may be reimbursement through long term care insurance.
